On the Road Production was founded from a simple yet powerful intuition: some of the most meaningful stories are those that explore who we are, where we come from, and where we belong.

Questions of identity, roots, memory, and belonging are at the origin of our creative journey. We are fascinated by the way individuals navigate the spaces between cultures, generations, places, and histories, constantly redefining themselves in the process. These themes inspired the creation of the company and continue to inform the way we look at the world.

But for us, identity is not a destination — it is a journey. The name On the Road reflects a belief that storytelling begins with movement: a willingness to leave familiar ground, to encounter different realities, and to venture beyond the boundaries of our own experience. We see filmmaking as a continuous exploration, a path that leads us toward places, people, and perspectives we have not yet discovered.

While our work is rooted in a curiosity about identity and belonging, our ambitions are not confined to any single theme, genre, or format. We are interested in stories that reveal something essential about the human condition — whether through fiction, documentary, hybrid forms, or emerging audiovisual languages. What matters most is a distinctive voice, an authentic point of view, and the ability to connect personal experiences with broader universal questions.

On the Road Production develops and produces original stories with an international outlook, embracing projects that challenge perspectives, foster dialogue, and resonate across cultures and generations. Founded by Michele Tagliatesta and Nicola Lombardi, the company is driven by a passion for discovery — both of the world around us and of the stories that help us understand it.
